Black Rose Minerals was created earlier this year, 2010, by Rosa Hernandez. After her mother passed away, Rosa used make-up as a creative outlet. She began experimenting and learning basic techniques for mixing minerals to create unique shades, and so Black Rose Minerals was born. Inspired by many things, some of the most significant sources are nature, art, literature, music, Roman, Greek and Egyptian mythology or the color wheel itself. As the company has developed, more inspirations come every day.

Very soon after the establishment of the company, Rosa asked friend Alexandra Polley to join on as a creative partner. Alex has worked on naming many of the shades and provided creative and moral support as well as being the company driver. She finds her inspirations from books, movies, music, nature, mythology and emotion. She also helps with event planning and management.

Our make-up is entirely hand-made and formulated uniquely. We do not repackage anything. We are here to help you find whatever color or shade you are looking for and are always open to suggestions. Our goal is to provide unique and high quality make-up. And, of course, we never, ever test on animals. Only our friends and family. : ) .
